2014 Merger - High Tensions and Differing Viewpoints

This section provides an insight on the high tensions and differing viewpoints of the faculty + students versus the administrations of NYU and the Polytechnic Institute of New York, with a slight focus on how the 1973 merger impacted feelings on the propositions in the early 2000's.

This section covers the financial strains that Polytechnic University was facing in the early 2000's, and how the leftover feelings from the 1973 merger created a big rift among those at the school as to how to handle the situation and whether the school could survive on its own or if it needed the help from NYU.

Additonally, it uses a dissertation to dive into the research behind student perceptions of organizational cultures and identities in the merger, as well as to take a look into how students from their respective schools viewed the other.
