The Poly Downfall

This exhibit will explore and evaluate various sorts of evidence that examine the downfall of the Poly leading up to the 1973 merger with NYUs engineering program. It will analyze the various logistical and financial conditions of New York City in the decade prior to the merger. It will also include brief overviews of the various interest groups that were affected by the necessity of a merger such as the board of trustees, faculty members and students. The exhibit is meant to inform members of our community about this era in the history of our institution that had major effects on NYU and the city of New York as a whole.
