The Agreement
The documents in this section consist of two pages that were obtained from the merger agreement. From documents such as this, it is simple to obtain information that illustrate the past struggle of Poly and how the merger aimed to remedy those problems.
In the first document, there is a brief list of objectives with regards to the personnel of the newly created institute. It calls for an evaluation of all academic programs within Poly in order to make decisions regarding which recommendations will be made. These program evaluations can be assumed to have been called for due to the loss of quality in education of Poly. For any education institution it is essential that all programs have a similar level of standards in order to attract students that will be expected to perform at a specific level.
The second document gives a brief statement on the changes that will be made regarding the board of trustees. A point is made regarding what to do with inactive board members and how their resignations will be called upon in the following weeks. Additionally, it also stated that there will be new nominations in order to fill these vacancies. These inactive members can be considered either a cause or a symptom of the downfall of Poly. The downfall might have been due to certain members not participating in meetings that could have helped Poly regain its status. On the other hand, these inactive members might have very well become inactive due to the merger. There were many individuals that heavily opposed the merger during its negotiation phase and many might have been trustees.
